West Coast Fever will face Australia’s Constellation Cup killer Grace Nweke in her Super Netball debut when they host the NSW Swifts in their 2025 Super Netball season opener.

Nweke led the Silver Ferns to a 61-43 thrashing of the Diamonds in Perth last month with 47 goals from 50 attempts as they won the series against Australia for the first time since 2021.

The goal shooter is the Swifts’ key signing for 2025 as they look to rebound from a tough 2024 season when they won only four games and missed the finals, having been minor premiers the year before.

Fever and Swifts will clash at RAC Arena on Sunday, April 6 in a bumper round one clash as part of a favourable start to the season with three of their first five games at home.

“Off the back of our recording breaking crowds last season at RAC Arena, where we saw a 19 per cent increase in our season attendance, it is a great reward for the club and the Green Army to start season 2025 at home,” Fever netball boss Sue Gaudion said.

“Traditionally, we start seasons strongly, and with three of our first five matches at RAC Arena, we need to harness the tremendous atmosphere the Green Army creates to our advantage.”

Fever face a testing mid-season stretch with four road matches in a five-game patch before they round out the regular season with consecutive clashes at RAC Arena.

“West Coast Fever, like our fellow WA sporting teams, are no strangers to travel and two back-to-back road trips in five weeks will test our group but we are ready for the challenge,” Gaudion said.

“We’ve identified that we need to improve how we finish games when we play interstate. We’re making that a focus next season and if we can thrive in hostile environments away from home that is going to put us in a strong position at the back end of the season.

“To finish the season off with two home games against Giants and our arch-rivals the Melbourne Vixens provides us a really good lead into finals and to attack the business end of the season.

“We are excited for what season 2025 holds and we cannot wait to see our proud and passionate Green Army fill RAC Arena and help make it our fortress once again.”

Netball Australia chief executive Stacey West said the Fever’s tough schedule mid-season is because of “venue availability”.

“We were really working with RAC Arena with what was available and how we would partner that with their away and home travel,” she said.
