The fans have voted with their wallets and it appears Sophie Devine is the most popular Perth Scorcher.

Perth’s WA Cricket Foundation auction closed on Tuesday night, with fans having had the chance to bid on match-worn Aboriginal jerseys from both the men’s and women’s teams.

And despite the immense hype around rising star Cooper Connolly amid a season of brilliance where he leads the Big Bash’s run-scoring, he couldn’t beat the popularity and style of Trans-Tasman star Devine.

Devine’s jumper fetched an incredible $2500 as $28,244 was raised for the WA Cricket Foundation, whose mission is all about creating improved social outcomes.

Australian star Beth Mooney came in equal second alongside Connolly and spin star Alana King, with the trio’s shirts selling for $2000 each.

Men’s captain Ashton Turner was not far behind at $1810 despite having played one of the worst games of his career in the Indigenous uniform against Sydney Thunder.

Left-hand closer and power-hitting phenomenon Nick Hobson also has not been forgotten after his BBL12 final heroics, as well as his final-over efforts on Boxing Day against Brisbane Heat, fetching a cool $1699.

Kiwi superstar Finn Allen was also popular among bidders.

Perth sported their Aboriginal playing shirts on New Year’s Eve in Adelaide before donning them for their annual Aboriginal match against Sydney Thunder at Optus Stadium on January 3.

The shirts were designed by Nyoongar artist Linda Loo - who is self-taught and has strong connections to the Ballardong and Whadjuk clans.

The initiative is in its fourth year, having raised thousands of dollars.
