East Fremantle have booked themselves into yet another WAFLW grand final. They’ve been one of the best teams over the last few seasons and have a chance to make it two premierships in three years. West Perth created their own piece of history, winning their first final against Swan Districts.

To no one’s surprise, PLC are IGSSA head of the river champions once again, making it an incredible nine victories in a row.

The Comets took care of business in the GIG WANL preliminary final, cruising to victory by nine goals at Gold Netball Centre. The grand final stage is set, as the Comets take on the seemingly unbeatable Western Roar.

Heading over to the Goulburn Valley League, Shepparton made light work of Mooroopna, ensuring they stay equal first on the ladder in the seniors competition.

PLC CAN’T BE STOPPED

PLC enjoyed the ultimate success at Champion Lakes Regatta Centre on Saturday. For the 12th year in a row, PLC took out the Wendy Zuideveld Perpetual Trophy for Schoolgirl Head of the River Regatta Champion School as well as the 1st VIII for the 9th year in a row. PLC also took out the Perpetual Trophy for Schoolgirl Premiers, for the 12th year in a row.

SHARKS STRAIGHT INTO GF

East Fremantle are through to a third consecutive WAFLW grand final after knocking off Claremont by three points in an instant classic. Despite a herculean effort from inspirational skipper, Jayme Harken, it wasn’t enough as the Tigers now host West Perth at Revo Fitness Stadium. The Falcons will be full of confidence as they made history with their first ever finals win over Swan Districts by 44 points.

ROAR TAKE ON THE COMETS

The Comets have booked their WANL grand final spot against the Western Roar after defeating the Fremantle Sharks by nine goals on Friday. Comets gun forward, Madeline Ash chimed in with 28 goals, leading the team to victory. In their previous meetings against the Roar, the Comets have narrowly lost by six, five and four goals respectively.

SHEPP BEARS HARD TO BEAT

The Bears treated themselves to a 68-point victory against the fourth placed Mooroopna in the GVL. Shepparton’s five multiple goal scorers is proof of the dominance displayed on Saturday. Cooper (4), Brett (3), Watts (3), McShane (2) and Smith (2) shared the load against the Cats, making a big statement to the rest of the league.
