Rhea Ripley’s Judgment Day partner Dominik Mysterio has called for Perth to turn purple tonight to celebrate Australia’s WWE Women’s Champion following a stunning reception from fans on Friday.

Ripley appeared on stage outside Optus Stadium and thousands of fans went wild during an event which was broadcast live around the world.

Ripley, affectionately known as Mami, will feature in the main event at Saturday night’s Elimination Chamber and Mysterio can’t wait to see Optus Stadium and the Matagarup Bridge turn purple to celebrate her success.

“Mami needs to have the biggest celebration,” Mysterio told The West Australian this morning.

“We need to have all the purple fireworks, all the purple lighting, spell Mami out with drones – you guys have got to make it the most special thing you can for Mami because you don’t know when she’s going to come back and be home. You guys have got to make it as special as you possibly can for her.

“I think it’s going to be something really, really special. We’ve been to a lot of different cities, countries and states in the US. It’s always really special to be able to hear the different crowds. Being here in Australia, in Perth, and having the biggest Australian superstar with us in Mami, I’m really excited to hear the reception.”

Mysterio spent his morning exacting revenge on a nine-year-old who mocked his NXT North American Championship title loss to Dragon Lee during the WWE’s promotional tour in December.

He faced off with the youngster in a game of WWE 2K24 and took great delight in showing off all of his skills.

“I’m pretty sure this is the only way I can hit a child, so I’m here for it,” Mysterio said.

“I’ll give it to 2K. They did a good job with the entrance and the hair. The graphics are awesome. There’s a lot of detail that goes into my gear and the fact they were able to hit it all to the tee, it’s really cool to see. Even my mullet.”

Ripley has already created history before the Elimination Chamber by joining Bianca Belair on the WWE 2K 24 Deluxe Edition cover. It is the first time two women have been on the cover.
